Every year Guwahati college conducts field study in different ecologically important places where students study the areas and record the flora and fauna species, study the biodiversity and the anthropogenic activities.
The nodal teachers and the temporary and permanent faculty members of the different departments and the dedicated faculty members of the department.
In the field study students are provided travelling facilities and the lunch from the college.
The field study is mandatory for undergraduate students. After completion of the field study they submit a field study report to the college which carry a significant credit in the syllabus.
Year 2022
This year students were taken to two sites viz Deepor Beel (RAMSAR site) and Khamrenga Beel (Wetland).
The field study was conducted for three days – 2/07/2022, 05/07/2022 and 07/07/2022
Total 575 students took part in this field study and there were 26 guide teachers.
Students were divided into small groups (almost 180 students in a group) and different dates were set for different groups.

Year 2023
This year students were taken to Deepor beel (Ramsar Site) and Pobitora Wildlife Sactuary.
Two dates were set to conduct the field study for the groups of Arts, Science and Commerece ( 27/03/2023 and 29/03/2023)
576 students of different streams ( Arts/ Science/ commerce) took part in this field study.
